Terms of Service

Welcome to Project Pillar (“we,” “us,” or “our”). These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) govern your use of the Project Pillar mobile and web applications (collectively, the “App”). By creating an account or using Project Pillar, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.

Eligibility

You may use Project Pillar only if you have reached the age of majority in your jurisdiction and can enter into a legally binding agreement. By creating an account or using the App, you represent that you meet these requirements.

Use of the App

Project Pillar is a task management platform that lets users, primarily contractors, create and manage projects, collaborate with others, and share project details with clients. You agree to use Project Pillar only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms. You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account, including any actions by users you invite to collaborate on a project.

Acceptable Use

You agree not to misuse Project Pillar, including by uploading or sharing unlawful, harmful, abusive, deceptive, infringing, or malicious content; attempting to access accounts, projects, files, or systems without authorization; interfering with the operation or security of the App; reverse engineering the App except where permitted by law; or using the App in a way that violates applicable laws or the rights of others.

Accounts and Security

You may create an account using a variety of different authentication providers. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for any activity under your account. You may update your information, including your username and password (if applicable), full name, and email within your profile settings at any time.

Data and Privacy

We collect only the data necessary to provide and improve our services, such as your name, email, and project/task information. You can delete your account at any time through the “Delete Account” option in your profile settings. When you do so, we will delete or de-identify your account data where reasonably possible, subject to backups, legal, security, billing, and operational retention requirements. Some information may remain in records created by other users, public client views that have not been removed, or temporary device caches. For more information on how we handle your data, please refer to our Privacy Policy.

Subprocessors

We use third-party service providers to operate Project Pillar, including Google Cloud Platform for file storage and infrastructure, Supabase for authentication and related backend services, and RevenueCat for subscription and purchase management where applicable. These providers may process data only as needed to provide their services to us.

User Content

By creating or sharing content (such as tasks, project names, and comments) within Project Pillar, you retain ownership of your content. However, you grant us a limited, non-exclusive license to store and display that content for the purpose of operating the App. You agree not to upload or share any content that is unlawful, abusive, or violates the rights of others.

Document Uploads

You may upload attachments such as (but not limited to) documents, videos, and images, all of which are linked to a project. These attachments are stored securely and can only be accessed by you, other users that have access to the project, and any clients that have been sent a public link. You acknowledge that you have ownership and/or rights to any content you upload, and that you are solely responsible if any or all of this content is viewed by collaborators or clients with access. When a project is deleted, we will delete its files where reasonably possible, subject to backups, legal, security, and operational retention requirements.

Collaboration and Client Access

When you invite other users or clients to a project, you control their permissions. Collaborators can view, create, and manage tasks within the project, while clients can only view tasks and due dates but cannot edit or create new ones. You are responsible for managing your project invitations and ensuring you only share project data with trusted users.

Public Links

Client view links are keyed by unique IDs. Anyone with the ID or a link containing it may be able to view the related client view without creating an account. You are responsible for deciding who receives these links and for removing or rotating access when a link should no longer be available.

Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms or misuse the App. You may also terminate your account at any time, after which we will delete or de-identify your account data where reasonably possible, subject to the retention limitations described above.

No Responsibility for Project Outcomes

Project Pillar helps organize project information, tasks, files, and communications, but we are not responsible for the performance, quality, safety, legality, code compliance, payments, deadlines, or outcomes of any contractor, subcontractor, customer, project, or work performed outside the App.

App Store Terms

If you download or purchase Project Pillar through an app store or platform, your use of that store or platform is also governed by its terms, conditions, and policies. If there is a conflict related to purchases, downloads, updates, refunds, or platform requirements, the applicable app store or platform terms may control.

Disclaimer and Limitation of Liability

Project Pillar is provided “as is” and “as available.” We make no warranties, express or implied, about the reliability or availability of the App. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Project Pillar and its developers are not liable for any damages, data loss, or business interruptions arising from your use of the App.

Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make significant changes, we will notify you within the App or via email. Continued use of Project Pillar after changes are posted means you accept the revised Terms.
